Listen up, this is important!

Everyone seems to expect people to freak out because they’re turning thirty. I really don’t understand. I’m not old. This isn’t a tragedy or something that I should dread. I’m not hung up on my age. There is so much time ahead of me and there’s no reason for me to be upset about a few little silver threads on my scalp. The only thing that thirty is the end of is your twenties. This obsession with some kind of clear delineation between old and young is completely manufactured. I, for one, think that this is going to be my best trip around the sun yet. I have so many things to look forward to and things that I want to accomplish that there just isn’t room in my life to sit around wailing about a number. That’s just silly!
